I had privilege of contributing as volunteer in several cultural, NSS and Events by Panpharmacon Student Club. Leaving home and opening up a new chapter in life i.e., college life and tuning with a whole new lifestyle was not much easier before I discovered a new family to grow with them for the next 3 years.

Specially adapting to a new culture, meeting different people, the food story never ends, but I love south Indian food now. RUAS life was so exciting and interesting, if I talk about academics, and also the cultural stuffs and the whole fun was sprinting towards those canteens straight out of the class. When I got enrolled for the course B.Com (Hons.), I did not know that I would acquire so much of knowledge and experience, and from the very beginning RUAS provided many other opportunities, like workshops, seminars, conferences, industrial visit that added more to my experiences and also helped me with choosing my path. I have had a beautiful experience visiting IIM-K with seniors, faculties and friends, it is just an irreplaceable memory. Thank you won’t be enough for thanking our faculties, the five crew of B.Com (Hons.) were so supportive with all of us at every step of our college life which was very obliging. Being irresponsible for whole 3 years and waiting for our teachers to impel us for assignments, projects and all the academic work was a remarkable journey throughout. What I miss majorly is the threat of attendance. I wish I could go back to live that life again. The experience which college life gives is life is unpredictable yet so fascinating and it prepares us for all the uncertain things coming on the way. After graduation, I got opportunity for pursuing M. Pharm program in Ramaiah College of Pharmacy, M. S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore.

The two years of postgraduation at the institute aided in developing the potential skills in pharmacy profession by providing valuable knowledge through both on-campus and online teaching with proper management, practical experience with all amenities, industrial exposure and opportunities for participation in conferences and seminars. The institute also conducted various informative seminars and webinars given by well-known pharmacy professionals for skill development. The faculty and staff of the institute particularly Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry had been supportive in eliciting valuable guidance and mentorship during the course program. As I finished my MPharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry Under the guidance of Dr. Suma B V, I Had a great interest in In-silico Drug designing and Computational Drug Discovery (CADD).

I got the internship in KCAT ENZYMATIC PVT. LTD. For 2 months and I got conformation of Job after 2 months as a Junior Research Analyst, after a year of experience I was promoted as a Junior Research Scientist in the month of Feb 2023 and still more to go. This was purely of my project where, I learnt about CADD and executed some studies through that knowledge about that, presented the same in the company. Also, it gave an incredible opportunity to participate in different social works such as DKMS-BMST Foundation India, ROTARACT, NSS etc. by taking part in these, I built long- lasting friendships and connections, met students from different backgrounds, and gained transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, organization, problem solving and time management

When I felt like failing in things, faculty members counselled me well and gave their constant support. Department of Pharmacology is the department where staffs ensure the holistic development of the students by training them in various aspects like sports, service and extracurricular activities

I was a member and active participant in various Clubs like Panpharmacon student club, NSS, Rotaract etc. And I also received “Annual Exemplary Student Achiever” award for valuable contribution in extra and co-curricular activities which still drives me to take up various coordination tasks back in the company

Throughout my undergraduate studies and even during my free time, all of the faculty assisted me. They were all very kind and did their best. All of my friends were constantly incredibly helpful and encouraging, and they are now all in excellent positions. My department has always provided me with advice for the future and encouraged me to work toward my objectives, and I appreciate that.

I did my undergraduate in Mathematics honors at MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences and it was a great experience studying here.

The faculty and the organization system is pretty good. The professors were very approachable and gave full support academically. They were available and ready to spend time for the students even after class hours to clear doubts. The course structure was designed really well and we had laboratory sessions for all the courses which helped in gaining practical knowledge. The power points and tutorials were given for reference and practice for all the courses. In addition to these, there was even a counselling and feedback session every once in a while with regards to the students welfare. During the pandemic, there was a switch over to online classes, and it was handled pretty well by the faculties without any trouble. The online teaching was not any less than the offline ones. The campus is pretty big, with great classrooms, student lounges, library, laboratories and other common areas. There are also many cultural activities and competitions that take place encouraging extracurricular activities. Also to mention, many science conferences and seminars take place which creates great opportunities to meet many well-known scientists from various places. To conclude, studying at RUAS, was more of an experience than typical academic learning.

Even going through the program at the height of the pandemic, the program ensured that we were able to get the education with proficient mentors and patient encounters necessary to be stellar optometrists. I appreciated being eased into patient care starting in third year and being able to have time afforded for thinking through each encounter. In forth year of internship ,I felt grateful to be welcomed by well known vision science and technology based organization named remidio innovative solutions. Remidio organized my internship experience to be very diverse, and challenged me to see all aspects of the practice. Each sector tended to look a little different, but that was something I appreciated and made for a well rounded experience!

Remidio made me to rotate through a variety of specialty clinics and be exposed to the diverse patient population the Bay area has to offer. I was happy to have been able to build my 4th year schedule in a way that let me experience seeing patients in a variety of settings through Remidio innovative solutions

I was able to work in product validation, recurring project associated with Apollo medical hospital and sugar clinic of south region and clinical research project on various study at different centers like Diacon hospital, Aravind eye care system and Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research. Mean while I was also glad to be part of Diabetic retinopathy camp at Aravind hospital pondicherry and Corporate employee screening at viatris. Through different designated areas l was able to show more interest in clinical research and development in AI and machine learning which helped in absorb more knowledge in vision science and think in different perspective for enhancement and challenges in advance technology in optometry.

Writing this as I finish my fourth year, I feel comfortable and confident with the imminent transition towards being an independent eye care provider.”
