Sports are very essential for every human life which keeps them fit and fine and physically strength. It has great importance in each stage of the life. It also improves the personality of the people. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences encourages and creates platform to students to participate in sports activities.

Sports & Athletic, DSA has conducted every year “SPHOORTHI” Annual Athletic Meet & intra faculty sports tournaments for students & staff and also conduct Extramural competitions and encourage students to participate in inter university tournaments. RUAS encourages students to take part in sports, RUAS students are participate in various sports at the International, National, and State levels in various categories of sports including Athletic, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Throw Ball, Handball, Basketball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Table Tennis, Chess, Badminton, Yoga, Swimming, Boxing and Karate.

RUAS students are busy with their academic, then also have shown interest in sports and extra curriculum activities. Every year RUAS sports teams participates in several sports/tournaments and have won several prizes.

The indoor sports facility is to give students, teachers, and staff opportunities for physical fitness, relaxation, and competitive play in a controlled environment.

A university's indoor sports programme complements its outdoor sports facilities and gives students opportunities for physical activity regardless of the weather. It promotes active living, healthy lives, and a sense of community among students and the university community through sports and leisure pursuits. The indoor sports area enhances the general wellbeing and sense of community on campus, whether it is used for competitive play or leisure exercise.

Gymnasium

A gymnasium is intended for sports, fitness training, and physical activity. These facilities have a variety of exercise machines, sports courts, and areas for team sports, individual training, and group fitness programmes. With a variety of workout options to suit various fitness goals and interests, gyms play a significant role in promoting health and wellness.

A specialised space or facility on a university campus that is especially created to support different fitness and exercise activities is referred to as the university gymnasium section. This area provides opportunities for physical fitness, health, and well-being to students, faculty, and staff.

Our indoor gymnasium is equipped with treadmills, cycles, dumbbells, bench press machines and multi-station gyms. Students can access the gym on payment of a nominal monthly fee.

Rules and Regulations:

RUAS’s sports and recreational facilities are subject to a set of rules and regulations that are decided by the University’s Sports and Recreation Committee.

  • Users must respect the rules and guidelines outlined in signs and posters at various facilities at all times.
  • Smoking and chewing of gum are strictly prohibited within the University campus and at all sporting facilities.
  • Food and drinks must not be consumed in sports and recreational facilities, except in areas designated specifically for this purpose.
  • Users must take care to use appropriate footwear and clothing sporting facilities. Casual footwear or dress shoes must not be worn on specially prepared surfaces or in indoor areas where sporting activities take place. The Sports and Recreation Committee will determine, from time to time, the clothing requirements and appropriate footwear for each facility and will publish them in the specific rules posted at the facility concerned.
  • Users may only use the facilities for the activities that are intended to take place at such facilities. To conduct any other activity at the facility, users must obtain prior approval from the Sports and Recreation Committee or the Sports Director.
  • Any user considered to be a danger to themselves or to other users must leave the area if requested to do so by the Director or an authorised officer.
  • Users who are suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or banned substances may be refused the use of the facilities by the Director or an authorised officer.
  • Users who contravene the rules or misuse any of the facilities may be asked to leave the area or the facility by the Director or an authorised officer either temporarily or permanently.
  • Where damage is caused to the equipment or the facilities of the University, the user who is responsible for such damage shall be liable to pay the cost of its replacement or repair to the University.
  • Users who fail to pay the fee or charge prescribed for the use of a particular facility will not be permitted to use that facility until all fees or charges due are fully paid.
  • Users may enter facilities only through designated entrances. Any user who attempts to enter or enters through any point other than a designated entrance may be removed from the facility by an authorised officer.
  • Users who hire a facility for a group are solely responsible for the behaviour of their group including players, spectators, guests, visitors, and officials. Any behaviour likely to cause offence is not acceptable and the Director or authorised officer may immediately terminate the use of the facilities in such cases.
