I have 23 years of clinical and academic experience. I have primarily worked on various aspects of tobacco control such as cessation, education and capacity building, Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders (OPMDs), oral cancer and salivary diagnostics. I have done extensive work on substitution of saliva sample for blood to measure specific biomarkers for various OPMDs and oral cancer. My present scope of investigation is on the role of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and salivary exosomes as an early diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for OPMDs and oral cancer in understanding etiopathogenesis and establishing it as an investigative procedure and developing it as a point of care device.
