Prof. Shetty has completed her Graduation and Post-graduation from Mangalore University. Prof Shetty is Senior Prof, Department of Prosthodontics and leads the department of Oral implantology. She is the director, Ramaiah ITI study club. Currently she also holds additional charge as Director, Directorate of Training and Lifelong Learning at Ramaiah University.
Dr. Shetty was Chairperson, Board of studies, FDS, RUAS. She is the Clinical Supervisor and design consultant for development of Indigenous dental implant developed in association with IISc, a DBT project for Centre of Excellence, IISc, a 5 crore rupees project. She has received ‘Grant in Aid’ from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for the project entitled “Estimation of Serum Titanium Levels in Individuals having Endosseous Titanium Dental Implants with and without Peri-Implantitis: A Clinical and Biochemical Study” with Dr Mahantesh.
She has been awarded the Fellow and Diplomate of the International College of Oral Implantologists, USA and Fellow of the International Team of Implantologists, Basel, Switzerland. She is also trained in digital measured occlusion. She is an active member of several professional associations like the Indian Society of Prosthodontics, Restorative and Periodontics, Indian Prosthdontics Society Indian Society of Oral Implantologists, International Team of Implantologists, Academy of Health Professions’ Educators and Indian Dental Association. She was on the Board of Studies of external Universities and has been examiner for Rajiv Gandhi University, Tamilnadu University, Kerala University of Health Sciences, Maharashtra University, Pacific University, Rajasthan. She is the current national secretary of the Indian Society of Prosthodontics, Restorative and Periodontics.
