Workshop on “Tie & Dye – Shibori Techniques using Safe Dye”

The Workshop on “Shibori Techniques” was held on 13 Jan 2026, in Fashion Design lab, Ramaiah Technology Campus, RUAS for B. Des Fashion Designing students. Mr. Prodip Polley, Co-Founder, Karma Ashram, Bolapur, Designer and Textile Specialist demonstrated the Shibori techniques by using natural dyes. Students were taught various tieing techniques and dyeing methods. First dyeing was carried out from lighter colour to darker colour and designs were created based on students creativity. Workshop provided the students valuable hands-on experience and practical exposure to techniques and sustainable dyeing practices. Participation in the workshop contributed to skill enhancement and a deeper understanding of the craftsmanship.
