Workshop on “Saree Draping Techniques”

Department of Fashion Design, Faculty of Art and Design, RUAS organised the workshop on “Saree Draping Techniques” was conducted by Ms. Varshitha Keshava C Founder of Amrteswari Satika and Ms Megha Narayan Founder of Artistry Bangalore on 30.1.2026 in Garment Manufacturing Lab, Ramaiah Technology Campus (RTC). The workshop was conducted for fashion designing students. During the workshop demonstration on draping styles such as tucking, wrapping, and pleating over a petticoat and blouse was shown. Students were given hands on skills on different types of Indian traditional saree draping methods. The resource person suggested many tips to follow during the draping process. Students also learnt handling different types of fabrics. This workshop helped a lot for students and gained a practical skill in this aspect.
