SPHOORTHI...Annual Athletic Meet-2025-26

The 11th Annual Athletic Meet of RUAS – SPHOORTHI was successfully held on 20th and 21st February 2026 at MSR Ground, MSR Nagar, Bengaluru. The event was graced by Ms. Neole Anna Cornelio, an International Athlete, as the Chief Guest. She shared her inspiring experiences and motivated the students to pursue sports with dedication and confidence.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the Registrar, Mr. S. Ashok Rao, who encouraged both students and staff to participate with true spirit and sportsmanship. The Best March Past Team Trophy was won by RINER, as judged by the Chief Guest.

A total of 1125 students registered for the meet, out of which 800 students actively participated in various events, along with 100 staff members who took part enthusiastically.

The events conducted included:

Track Events: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 4×50m relay, 4×100m relay, 4×200m relay, 4×400m relay, and Mixed Relay 4×100m.
Field Events: Shot Put, Discus Throw, Long Jump, High Jump, and Triple Jump.
Fun & Recreational Events: Sack Race, Lemon & Spoon Race, Hit the Wicket, and Tug of War (for both staff and students).

The Valedictory and Prize Distribution Ceremony commenced at 4:00 PM on 21st February 2026. The ceremony was presided over by the Registrar, Mr. S. Ashok Rao, who distributed the prizes to the winners and delivered the presidential address. He appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and participants, and formally concluded the SPHOORTHI Athletic Meet 2025–26.

The Best Female Athlete Trophy was awarded to Ms. Sriya from RCP, and the Best Male Athlete Trophy was awarded to Mr. Thejas Ashok from FET. The Women’s Overall Championship was won by Ramaiah College of Physiotherapy, while the Men’s Overall Championship was secured by the Faculty of Engineering & Technology. The Rolling Trophy for the Overall Championship was also awarded to the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
