Miraki Fashion Portfolio Show – 2026” was inaugurated by Dr. Sarat Kumar Maharana, Prof. & Dean, Ramaiah Technology Campus. Mr Arun Sreenivas, Founder, Dream Studio, Bangalore; Ms. Chinmai A., Apparel Designer and Production Specialist, Adventure Worx, Bangalore. The program began with an invocation song, followed by the Ramaiah Anthem. Dr. Mamatha G. Hegde, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Fashion Design, MS Ramaih University of Applied Science, welcomed the dignitaries, and during the welcome, she highlighted the importance of the Miraki Portfolio Fashion Show 2026. She said today, "VI Semester B.Des. Fashion Design students will present their fashion portfolio collections; IV Semester B.Des. Fashion Design students will showcase one design each under the Fashion Choreography Collection. II Semester B.Des Fashion Design students will present a show for the Mileenia Brand, and additionally, designs created by Ms. Rajasi Das, a full-time Ph.D. scholar, will also be featured during the event." She also said, “The Miraki Fashion Show event focuses on celebrating creative expression, design innovation, and the dedication of our students and faculty."

Dean Dr. Sarat Kumar Maharana, Ramaiah Technology Campus, addressed the parents and others. In his speech Dr. Maharana said “Students have worked for this Miraki fashion show continuously even during the holidays. The show shows their creativity, innovation, and skills”.

The fashion show started with semi-classical dance. In the Miraki Show 2026 IV semester, students showcased a show based on the theme “Classic with a Twist." The show is the cheeky remix of tradition and the Metro muse theme, showcased with floral prints, soft drapes, and layered fabrics that enhance movement.

Ms. Rajasi Das, Senior Research Scholar, showcased her collection, which was developed based on Durga Puja motifs into embroidered textile designs by combining traditional inspiration with modern technologies on cotton, silk, and orange-based fabrics.

The final portfolio collection of VI semester B. Des. fashion design students displayed the creativity of designers in varied themes and inspiration as below—

Ms. Aakriti:

Theme: Stranger streets, upside-down youth

Inspiration: Stranger things

“Stranger Streets: Upside Down Youth” is a retro-inspired collection blending 1980s nostalgia with modern youth culture. The collection uses breathable cotton fabrics, ensuring comfort and everyday wearability for casual to semi-formal occasions. This collection reimagines retro fashion, celebrating youthful exploration, creativity, and self-expression.

Mr Sebastian:

Theme: Metanoia

Inspiration: Emotional rebirth

This collection reflects transformation through contrast, evolving from darkness to light, structure to fluidity, and restraint to expression. Each design symbolizes a phase of inner change, where identity is redefined and beauty emerges through growth.”

Ms. Aashika P:

Theme: Art Nouveau

Inspiration: Nature-inspired floral motifs in elegant screen-printed designs.

This collection is inspired by Art Nouveau, focusing on flowing silhouettes and organic curves.

Ms. Bhuvaneswari Pragallapati

Theme: Dakshayagna

Inspiration: From Lord Shiva’s mythology

Dakshayagna is inspired by Sati and her inner fire of self-respect. The designs feature flowy drapes with sharp, structured cuts, using fiery shades like red, orange, and black, with textures that resemble flames and burning. Influenced by Shiva, the collection reflects strength, transformation, and bold energy through every silhouette.

Poojaa Sri L.S.

Theme: Egyptian Iconography

Inspiration: Ancient symbols reflecting life, divinity, and eternity This collection is inspired by ancient Egyptian culture, showcasing power, divinity, and timeless beauty. The designs feature bold silhouettes, gold detailing, and symbolic motifs like hieroglyphics. Colors such as black, gold, ivory, and turquoise reflect royalty and eternity, creating a strong and elegant couture look.

Ms. Annam Akhila:

Theme: Haveli of Hidden Fire

Inspiration: Heeramandi

“Haveli of Hidden Fire"—inspired by the timeless allure of Heeramandi.

This collection captures quiet strength beneath grace, blending regal silhouettes with intricate architecture in designs. A story of concealed passion, elegance, and the unspoken fire within.”

Ms. R Rakshitha:

Theme: Tr-rex Gami

Inspiration: Annihilation of Trex

“TR-Rex Gami—where primal ferocity meets futuristic precision, driven by TR cutting and origami, transforming the legacy of the T-Rex into a striking vision of architectural fashion and kinetic elegance.”

Ms. Shruthi G

Theme: Strong Feminity

Inspiration: Architecture: Sculpted feminity

“Pillars of Strength” A celebration of structured femininity inspired by classical architectural columns—strength, symmetry, and grace. This collection draws inspiration from classical architecture (Greek & Roman columns)—featuring elements like fluting, capitals, and vertical symmetry.

At the end of the show, students were awarded various awards based on various parameters like best choreography, best construction, best theme, design aesthetics, stage presentation, innovation design originality, vision for the future, accessories coordination, expression, and confidentiality.

Ms. Gagana, an MSc student, did the master of ceremony. The program ended with the national anthem.
