International Women’s Day Celebrations

Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) on 14th March 2026 at Ramaiah Technology Campus, Peenya, Bengaluru. Mrs. Farhana Tabassum, Associate Project Director, GSAT-22/23/24 spacecrafts, UR Rao Satellite Centre, ISRO, Bengaluru was the chief Guset. This year’s IWDs theme being “Give to Gain”, she emphasized the different ways in which contribute to society in the form of mother/daughter/teacher/technocrat/doctor/ and many other professions. She also dwelt into how women can make a difference in society. Mrs. Farhana was felicitated by RUAS for her contribution towards Science and Technology. Prof. Sarath Kumar Maharana, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, addressed the gathering pressing the need for women empowerment and how Ramaiah University is maintaining a very good balance of women in Faculty as well as leadership positions. The program also had address by Prof. Nayana N. Patil, Associate Dean for Student Wellness and Dr. Mumtaz, Chairperson of Women Cell, Ramaiah University. Dr. Srikari S. Professor, Department of Aerospace & Automotive Engineering welcomed the gathering and Dr. Shaistha anchored the programme.

The formal function was followed by a cultural event for Women of RTC. Women from Faculty, nonteaching staff and housekeeping staff actively participated and made a memorable event. The programme was organized by the organizing committee involving different Faculty and nonteaching staff.
