Industrial visit to Shell Apparels, Chikaballapur, Bangalore

Students and staff from the department of fashion design visited Shell Apparels, denim manufacturing and processing unit in Chika ballpura, Bangalore on 22 Jan 2026. Students were given practical exposure on various aspects of denim manufacturing from fabric stage to final finishing stage.

Students were divided into 2 batches accompanied by 2 staffs were taken to Denim Designing. Students went round from raw material storage section, with trim store, fabric relaxation section, Cad designing, fabric laying, and spreading, cutting and stitching process. After the denim construction it was sent for processing, washing and final pressing and dispatch section. Student s also observed effluent treatment process were in purification of water was done at different level and 90 percent water is purified and used for further process. Overall students got lot practical exposure about denim processing and packaging.
