Industrial Visit to “Lotus Silks Weaving Unit, Nelamangala”

The Department of Fashion Design organised an industrial visit to Lotus Silks Weaving Unit, No. 293, 3rd Cross, Weaver's Colony, Nelamangala Taluk, Bangalore Rural, on 24 February 2026. A total of 37 students participated in this enriching excursion. Proprietor Mr. Naveen guided students through the complete silk fabric production process — from raw yarn procurement and dyeing to Jacquard weaving, finishing, and packaging. The visit offered valuable insights into traditional handloom techniques, quality control, and the cultural significance of Karnataka's silk industry, effectively bridging classroom learning with real-world industrial experience.
