FAD Research Scholar Ms. Rajasi Das Honored with AATCC Student Chapter Award
Ms. Rajasi Das, a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and Ph.D. Scholar from the Department of Fashion Design, Faculty of Art & Design (FAD) at M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS), has been honored with the prestigious AATCC Student Chapter Award. The accolade includes an official certificate, prizes, a complimentary professional membership, and exclusive recruitment opportunities.
Hailing from Kolkata, West Bengal, Ms. Das specializes in Fashion Design, Motif Design, and Textile Embroidery—areas that have captivated her interest since her early academic career. As one of the founding members of the RUAS student chapter, she has played a highly active role in its growth and success. Her research advisor, Dr. Mamatha G. Hegde, commended her outstanding dedication, highlighting her strong participation in the collaborative AATCC Student Chapter 'Miraki Fashion Show.' For the event, Ms. Das showcased two innovative sarees fabricated from orange peel and silk, intricately adorned with traditional Durga motifs.
Reflecting on her aspirations, Ms. Das stated, “I aspire to become a dedicated academician and mentor, contributing to the growth and development of students through education and guidance.”
