DRDO (Govt of India) LSRB grant to Prof. Sahadev Shankarappa

Prof. Sahadev Shankarappa, from the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Life and Allied Health Sciences (FLAHS), RUAS, has been awarded a 3-year grant by DRDO (LSRB) for a project titled “Development of Novel Transdermal Drug Delivery Patch for Prevention of Cold Weather-Induced Sensory Deficits by Enhancing Peripheral Nerve Microcirculation.”

The co-investigators of this project are Dr. Deveswaran from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Dr. Mahendra from the Department of Neurology, RMC. The project focuses on designing an innovative transdermal patch to prevent nerve damage in extreme cold weather, addressing critical challenges faced by defense personnel in high-altitude field conditions.
