B.Des. Students Master Garment Technology with "TailorTrix" Workshop

Students from the third and fifth semesters of the B.Des. Fashion Design program participated in a one-day workshop “TailorTrix” organized by the Department of Apparel Design and Fabrication Technology at the M. S. R. Polytechnic Institute, MSRIT Campus, Bangalore, on August 12, 2025. Three staff members also attended.

During the workshop, a resource person demonstrated three software solutions: Printer, Plotter, and Laser. The printer software helps with printing patterns directly onto fabric, while the plotter software is specially designed to print patterns on a single page, ensuring precise and efficient pattern layouts. The demonstration of the laser software showed how its precise cutting technology reduces human error and fabric waste during the manufacturing process.

Using this software reduces the dependency on pattern experts and improves productivity for small-scale entrepreneurs. The workshop successfully enhanced the students' knowledge and skills in garment manufacturing technology.
