Dr V Sundar Kumar completed his Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from Christian Medical College, Vellore in 1998 and his enthusiasm for research led him to earn his Doctoral degree in Physiotherapy from Manipal University in 2015. With a rich clinical experience in rehabilitation of individuals with spinal cord injuries, stroke, amputations, children with disabilities and community-based rehab programs, his PhD training led him to transition towards using physical activity and exercise training as a strategy to improve health and wellness across populations. His current clinical and research work focuses on improving health and wellness among individuals with cancer, older adults, Long COVID, and those with cardiometabolic syndrome. He is a recognized PhD Supervisor with two full-time students, has completed four funded research and has fostered international research collaborations. He has mentored several undergraduate and postgraduate research projects including those funded by RGUHS and the Government of Karnataka.
