According to Invest India, India's pharmaceutical industry is the world's third-largest by volume and 14th largest by value. It is a major exporter of pharmaceuticals, supplying over 200+ countries. India is also the world's largest provider of generic medicines by volume, accounting for 20% of global pharmaceutical exports. The growing concern for personal well-being among individuals serves as a significant impetus propelling this market forward.
The M Pharm in Pharmaceutics is an advanced programme designed for individuals seeking specialized knowledge and preparing students for successful careers in design, formulation, and delivery of pharmaceutical products. Program Objectives

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have passed B. Pharm degree examinations of an Indian University established by law in India and from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.
Candidates should have secured not less than 55% marks in aggregate of 4 years or equivalent CGPA of B. Pharm for General Category.
Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Tribes should have passed with 50% (as per PCI Gazette Notification dated 10.12.2014).
It is mandatory to submit a migration certificate obtained from the University where the candidate had passed their qualifying B. Pharm degree.

Students seeking admission are required to appear for the entrance examination conducted by the University, including international students. This will be a Post Graduate Entrance Test (M. Pharm).
Via Government of Karnataka Quota
Students seeking admission are required to appear and qualify for the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) — Bangalore, Govt. of Karnataka.

Programme Specialization Course
Emphasis in-depth knowledge dissemination on core courses such as Drug Delivery Systems, Modern Pharmaceutics, Regulatory Affairs, Molecular Pharmaceutics, Advanced Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, Computer-Aided Drug Delivery System, Cosmetic and Cosmeceuticals, etc. and hands-on laboratory training to students towards formulation development
International Competitions
Students can earn 1-3 credits by participating in the international competitions, or with a presentation in a conference or publication in a journal that wins awards. Students can earn additional 1-3 credits through participation in international competitions through technical work.
Group Project
A group of 5 students can work on a project of an interdisciplinary nature and be constituted of members from across departments. Students are required to develop a report for assessment and demonstrate the working of the project. The IPR rights of all such work lies with the University only.
Industrial Internship/Project
Students can opt for internship in an industry, business or research organisation. Alternatively, students can undertake a mini-project requiring self-directed study that can be perused within the affiliated Faculty. It is also necessary for the student to submit a report and make a presentation to the members of the panel constituted by the HoD for assessment.
Dissertation and Publication
There are two parts to this course, a dissertation and publication. Each student has to choose a relevant topic and work individually to write the dissertation. The topic needs to be approved by the committee constituted by HoD. Publication is a stage wherein dissertation work of the student is converted into a technical paper to be published in reputed conferences/journals.
Teaching and Assessment
During each semester, students’ performance is assessed through Continuous Evaluation (CE) which includes teacher interaction, sessional examination and a Semester End Examination (SEE). Students are awarded grades based on the marks scored.

The Gnanagangothri Campus and the Technology Campus have well-planned hostel facilities for students. However, the on-campus accommodation at Technology Campus is currently restricted to female students only.

The Faculties of Engineering & Technology, Art & Design, and Mathematical & Physical Sciences are housed in the Technology Campus. Therefore, all programmes offered by these Faculties are conducted in the Technology Campus.
