Centre for Information and Technology Management (CITM)

CITM Policy provides guidance, consistency, accessibility, usability, accountability, efficiency, and clarity on how the University CITM facility operation should be. MSRUAS has a dedicated CITM team to implement process of CITM policy which involves all activities designed to carry out policy enacted by the University.

CITM to support automation needs of 13 faculties. The CITM consists of IT Infrastructure, IT Security, e-Governance and Applications.

The effectiveness of CITM depends on sound policy elements, which enables teachers and students working collaboratively to enquire, search, discover and turn information into knowledge and use knowledge to further enhance their skills.

The University has been consistently upgrading its IT infrastructure for academics, research and clinical support based on the annual reviews and requirements. CITM facilities includes Servers, Computers, Laptops, Projectors, Lecture Capturing System, VPNs, Firewalls, Networking, Wi-Fi Facilities, Tele-Communication systems, Surveillance, Interactive Smart Boards/Panels, Printers, Applications, Academic Softwares, Online Teaching Aids, Internet Bandwidth, Digital library, LMS-MOOCS, Website, Digital classrooms, Student life cycle management software(ERP), Hospital Information Systems, PACS Systems, HR/Payroll, Payment gateways, Tally, Alumni’s portal, Students & Parents portal, Placement cell, CCTV, etc.

Use of CITM has provided both students and faculty members at MSRUAS with more opportunities in adapting learning, teaching, and managing the individual needs. CITM team conducts a need analysis for IT requirement across university and submits a consolidated budget for approvals followed by procurement, implement and maintain. For continuous improvement and stability in performance, the CITM infrastructure will be kept upgraded / replaced after evaluating and identifying the low performing or outdated devices.

University is well-equipped with IT infrastructure to provide experience delight to the students during their stay

  • Computers, projectors / professional display, audio systems, etc. in all its classrooms and interactive smart panels in most of the classrooms.
  • Lecture Capturing System, to help its students to enhance their performance.
  • Audio Visual Recording Centre facility to enable the faculty members to record lecture / laboratory sessions and make it available for students for repeated views.
  • Sufficient internet bandwidth to support the needs of students and faculty members for teaching and learning activities.
  • Computer laboratories with high end computing systems and domain specific software tools including industry grade to imbibe the ambience of research, higher learning, and technological development.
  • Laboratories are equipped with conventional setups and modern infrastructure to serve the learning cause of UG, PG and Doctoral programmes.
  • Establishment of high peripheral network security to protect email services, threats of unauthorized access, theft of information and malicious disruption of services, by using Network Firewalls and high-end network switches.
  • High end servers to store Faculty, Cloud servers/storage, Students and Staff records. All staff and students are given good amount of cloud storage space in the Microsoft cloud to store their data as a secondary backup.
  • Access to subscribed e-Journals, publications, e-contents, etc., with authorized logins.
  • University has an official website which is dynamic and is updated with latest information.
  • MSRUAS has implemented an e-Governance ERP system which automates the complete process of university operations starting from Admissions to announcement of results. ERP also helps in encouraging Green Initiative by reducing use of papers.
  • A team of inhouse maintenance engineers are put in place to upkeep the CITM infrastructure and Applications. Apart from this AMC is done for software applications, printing, communication, security, surveillance equipment, etc.

CITM Director’s Message

It’s a great honor to be the CITM Director at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) Bengaluru at this critical juncture in its transformation phase of growth. CITM is the central backbone to the University’s vision and to fulfill the mission. In keeping with this, RUAS has distinguished itself by its excellent academic programs, center of excellence, research across all schools and support for entrepreneurs and contributions to public policy. RUAS is aimed at successfully establishing policies and procedures complying with various regulatory bodies.

As we look ahead, an important priority for RUAS is to further enhance our impact through digital adoption. Multiple platforms that can enable us to do this are

  • Students & Staff engagement using digital learning, and Digital library.
  • The outstanding research capabilities of our faculty and specialized research centers.
  • To establish fully digital classrooms: Audio-Video tools, Lecture Capturing Systems, Interactive Smart Boards connected to Internet.
  • To establish High Cluster Computing facility for engineering students and faculties.
  • Campus wide Wi-Fi Internet facility is made available.
  • Campus wide Video surveillance for safety of students.
  • High speed (2 Gbps) internet connectivity with 24x7 availability.
  • Live Video streaming on YouTube for all ongoing conferences.
