NSS Cell, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) in association with DKMS-BMST Foundation India and Ramaiah Memorial Hospital (RMH) successfully organized an awareness session on Blood Cancer, Blood Disorders and Platelet Registry on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, 14th June 2022. It was followed by Blood Donation drive and rally to create awareness on blood disorders and significance of blood donation.
As part of the initiative over 125 NSS volunteers of RUAS registered as Stem Cell donors to support DKMS-BMDT Foundation India initiative towards deleting blood cancer. About 25 NSS volunteers took up DKMS-BMST Campus Ambassador Program to spread awareness and seriousness of blood cancer. The second awareness session was on Platelet registry by Dr. Sujitha Kannan, Ramaiah Memorial Hospital. More than 100 students registered themselves for platelet donation via Platelet Registry initiative of RMC.
Blood Donation drive in association with Ramaiah Memorial Hospital resulted in collection of 80 units of blood.
