SPOORTHI – 7^th Annual Athletic Meet of RUAS was held on 22^nd and 23^rd March, 2022 at MSR Ground, MSR Nagar, Bengaluru. Ms. Manisha M K, 3^rd DAN Black Belt, Certified Coach & Referee, KAI, Alumnus, RUAS and Mr. Manoj Kumar S. RUAS – Best Male Athlete for 3 Consecutive years were the guest of honor. 

The inauguration program began with welcoming the dignitaries and welcome speech given by Mr. Arun R from FET. This was followed by university flag hoisting by Guests and Ramaiah Anthem. After this, torch run was carried out by the best athlete from the teams. The Inaugural address was given by Honourable Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Raina. During his address, he emphasized that sports is also as important as academics. Ms. Manisha expressed in her speech that sports gives good health, confidence and personality to students. Mr. Manoj Kumar declared the Athletic Meet open. 

For the first time, 800 students participated in the event and 70 staff members participated. Events conducted were 50 mts, 100 mts, 200 mts, 400 mts, 800mts, 1500 mts, 4 X 50 mts relay, 4 X 100 mts relay, Mixed relay 4 x 100 mts and 4 X 400 mts relay in track event. Shot Put, Discus Throw, Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump, Sack Race, Lemon & Spoon, Hit the Wicket and Tug of War for staff and students were held. Students and staff participated enthusiastically in all the events. 

The Shield for the Best March Past team was given to FLAHS. The Best Athlete Female Trophy was awarded to Dhrithi from B Tech (Civil) 2^nd year from Faculty of Engineering & Technology and Best Athlete-Male was shared with 2 students to Mr. Md. Samad from FLAHS and Mr. Brijesh from FMC. The Overall Championship was won by Faculty of Management and Commerce.
