RUAS along with Valdel Advanced Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has been formally awarded with the project entitled ​“Development of Composite WT /GT and Fire Class /EMC Compliant Doors and Hatches for Indian Naval Ships” under Technology Development Fund (TDF) Scheme by DRDO, Ministry of Defence. This is an indigenization project involving development of components jointly by Academia and Industry with the help of Indian Navy and DRDO.

The project was proposed jointly by RUAS team (Dr. Rahul Cadambi from FET and Mr. Parikshith from Techno Center) and Valdel Advanced Technologies Pvt. Ltd. RUAS is the second Private University in India to be awarded under this TDF scheme. RUAS greatly indebted to Prof. Govind R. Kadambi and Mr. N.C. Shekar for their Management Directions in successfully winning this Tender
