World Pharmacist Day 2024

Faculty of Pharmacy (FPH) at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences celebrated World Pharmacists Day under the banner of Pharmatopia 2024 on 25th September 2024. Organized by the Literary and Celebration Committee and co-powered by IIC RUAS, NSS RUAS, and Rotaract RUAS, the event followed the theme "Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs" and featured a series of activities to honor the vital role of pharmacists in global healthcare.

The event commenced at 11:00 AM the proceedings began with an invocation and the Ramaiah Anthem, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Shwetha K, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics. Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. S. Bharath, also addressed the audience, setting the tone for the celebration.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Suresh Venkataram, a renowned Pharmaceutical Consultant, delivered an insightful keynote address, emphasizing the growing importance of pharmacists in addressing global health challenges. A prize distribution ceremony followed, recognizing the winners of the Pharmatopia 2024 competitions.

Pharmatopia 2024 featured national competitions including E-poster making, reels making, and short film making. Over 100 participants from across India registered for these competitions, showcasing creativity and highlighting the pharmacy profession's impact on healthcare.

As a part of the celebration, Dr. B V Basavaraj, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics, led the participants in reciting the Pharmacist's Oath. This symbolic moment reinforced the commitment of the students and faculty to uphold the ethical responsibilities of the pharmacy profession in their future practice.

The vote of thanks by Mrs. Jeesa George, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, concluded the indoor event which was followed by a rally. Over 400 students from FPH participated in the rally, demonstrating their collective spirit and commitment to the pharmacy profession.

Through Pharmatopia 2024, the FPH community came together to celebrate World Pharmacists Day, fostering a sense of unity and reinforcing the significance of pharmacists in advancing global health.
