Workshop on “Modern Posterior Composites – Unveiling the Power of Injection Moulding for Monolithic Excellence."
The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, in collaboration with 3M, successfully hosted a Guest Lecture and Training Program on 6th January 2026 titled “Modern Posterior Composites – Unveiling the Power of Injection Moulding for Monolithic Excellence.” The program was delivered by Dr. Manikya Arabolu, Clinical Specialist for 3M Oral Care, South India. The lecture, demonstration, and hands-on session were conducted in the PCO Lab, Faculty of Dental Sciences and were well attended by faculty members, postgraduate students, and interns.
The session commenced with an inaugural address followed by the presentation of a bouquet by the Head of the Department, Dr. Shruthi Nagaraja. Dr. Manikya, an MDS in Prosthodontics with extensive clinical and academic experience, shared valuable insights into modern posterior composites, emphasizing the role of injection moulding in achieving aesthetics, durability, and minimally invasive restorations. She highlighted advancements in 3M flowable and bulk-fill composites and their clinical applications.
The lecture was followed by an engaging live demonstration and hands-on training on posterior Class II build-up using injection moulding, along with an interactive discussion session. The program concluded with the presentation of a certificate by Dr. Sylvia Mathew and a vote of thanks by Dr. Anu Elsa Swaroop, marking a highly enriching academic experience for all participants.
