Workshop on “Essential Newborn care”
The Ramaiah Institute of Nursing Education and Research, in collaboration with the Society of Midwives of India, organized a workshop on Essential Newborn Care on August 21, 2024. The primary objective was to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare providers in essential newborn care practices, covering topics such as preparation for receiving newborns, assessment and routine care, neonatal resuscitation, and managing challenges in newborn care.
The workshop had total of 53 participants, including 29 staff nurses from various hospitals, 11 ANM’s from Primary Health Centres, and 10 ANM’s from BBMP maternity homes across Bangalore, and 3 faculty members from nursing colleges. Participants were assessed before and after the workshop, and all expressed satisfaction with the workshop.
