Two-day clinical simulation workshop on “Mastering Clinical Skills: A Simulation-Based Workshop”

Ramaiah Institute of Nursing Education and Research (RINER), in collaboration with the FAME Academy (a Hexatron Healthcare Brand), successfully conducted a two-day clinical simulation workshop titled “Mastering Clinical Skills: A Simulation-Based Workshop” on 10th and 11th June 2025 at RINEE laboratories. This workshop was aimed to provide a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience to nursing professionals and students, enabling them to enhance their clinical competencies in a realistic and safe environment.

Objectives of the Workshop:

At the end of this workshop the participants were able to:

  • Perform cardiovascular assessments, including inspection, palpation, auscultation, vital sign measurement, and Peripheral Doppler testing on simulated patients.
  • Operate critical care equipment such as ventilator, cardiac monitor, infusion, and syringe pump through hands-on scenarios.
  • Practice tracheostomy care, including suctioning, dressing, and emergency decannulation management.
  • Administer oxygen therapy with various devices, understanding FiO2 delivery in low/high-flow and positive pressure systems (CPAP, BiPAP).
  • Strengthen airway management with ET tubes, OPA, and I-gel. Enhance ECG placement and rhythm interpretation skills.
  • Boost teamwork, communication, and confidence to apply critical care skills for safer, more efficient patient care.
Participants:

A total of 50 participants attended the workshop. The participants included staff Nurses, Nurse educators, Undergraduate (UG) Nursing students, Postgraduate (PG) Nursing students. Participants represented various healthcare organizations and academic institutions.
