RUAS NEEV 5K Run

The RUAS NEEV 5K Run/Walk was conducted on 11 October 2025 to commemorate the "International Day of the Girl Child, jointly organized by the Centre for Entrepreneurship (CFE), The Startup Society (TSS) and Hamari Laado Foundation, in association with the NSS & Rotaract RUAS aimed at Strengthening next generation of rural girls - new age skill development for better life and educational outcomes.

The programme commenced with registration, bib distribution to the participants with orientation on route safety, hydration points, and emergency protocols. Following Dr. Sonali Gupta, Director - CFE, shared an inspiring briefing and emphasized that RUAS NEEV 5K Run/Walk is envisioned to celebrate and amplify our commitment to girls’ education and empowerment, give rural girls a visible platform to break social barriers and claim public space, Inspire student entrepreneurs to practice problem-driven, empathetic social entrepreneurship, Strengthen RUAS’s role as a local champion of the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” mission. Representative of Hamari Laado Foundation, addressed the gathering on the significance of the day and the broader intent behind the initiative. She highlighted how the RUAS NEEV 5K Run/Walk—jointly organized by the Centre for Entrepreneurship (CFE), The Startup Society (TSS), and Hamari Laado Foundation—aims to cultivate awareness, community participation, and collective responsibility toward the well-being and empowerment of girls. Emphasizing the event’s purpose, she underscored its focus on promoting inclusivity, health and fitness, and a culture of safety and dignity. Her remarks set the tone for a meaningful and impactful program aligned with RUAS’s values of service, leadership, and social innovation.

More than 100 participants and volunteers were present. At the finish, participants received medals, certificate of appreciation and breakfast, followed by acknowledgements to partners and volunteers. The initiative amplified awareness on girls’ rights and well-being, aligning with SDG-3 (Good Health), SDG-4 (Quality Education) and SDG-5 (Gender Equality).
