RUAS Designers and Models Shine at “National-Level Navyug Khadi Mahotsav”
Designers and models from the Department of Fashion Design, Industrial Design, and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) collaborated to present a spectacular fashion show at the National-Level Navyug Khadi Mahotsav and Khadi Exhibition. Held on 31 January 2026 at the HMT Ground in Jalahalli, Bengaluru, the event celebrated the "Vocal for Local" movement by promoting traditional Indian textiles, craftsmanship, and sustainable fashion.
The students showcased an innovative range of garments crafted from Khadi fabrics and Handloom sarees. The performance highlighted creative draping techniques and traditional textile methods, emphasizing the growing importance of eco-friendly fashion. The participants displayed immense confidence on the ramp, earning significant appreciation from the audience for their creativity and stage presence.
To conclude the program, the Khadi Board organizers distributed certificates to all participants in recognition of their achievements. This experience provided students with invaluable practical exposure to garment presentation and a deeper understanding of the role of fashion in sustainability. Overall, the event was a resounding success, fostering both design skills and professional confidence among the student community.
