Ramaiah Summer Program 2026: Interdisciplinary Learning Experience
The Ramaiah Summer Program 2026, conducted by the Center of AI for Social Good (CAISG) at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, concluded successfully after a five-day immersive learning experience from April 20–24, 2026. The program brought together 14 students from diverse backgrounds (Classes 10 to 12) to explore the intersection of technology, society, policy, and innovation.
The program was led by Dr. Rema V, Head - CAISG, along with a dedicated team of faculty and student contributors from the School of Social Sciences, School of Law, Faculty of Management and Commerce, Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Centre for Professional Development (CPD) reflecting the truly interdisciplinary nature of the initiative.
The program commenced with an inaugural session and overview, followed by engaging sessions on Careers in Data Science, the evolution of Artificial Intelligence, and the relationship between human cognition and AI. Students were introduced to key societal concepts through sessions on social networks and information flow, Indian political systems, and government budget preparation.
Industry exposure was a key highlight, with expert talks on quantum computing by Mr. Prabhudas Kamath and Team AQMatics, innovation and entrepreneurship by Dr. Madhan Kumar Srinivasan – Inventor of 130+ patents, CEO – DMIF & 6x founder , and future job skills in data annotation platforms by Ms. Jeevitha Satheeshkumar, CEO – JSR Script. The program also included a moot court session, offering students practical exposure to legal processes.
Hands-on learning formed a core component of the program. Students participated in workshops on website development, gender sensitization, careers in the era of AI, and data visualization using Advanced Excel and Power BI. Sessions on business plan development, psychometric data analysis, budgeting using spreadsheets, and cognitive biases in decision-making further enriched their understanding of real-world problem-solving.
A major highlight was the mentored mini-project, where students worked in teams to identify real-world problems, develop solutions, and prepare business pitches. The program culminated in team presentations evaluated by a faculty panel, emphasizing innovation, feasibility, and social impact.
The Best Project Award was presented to the team “Pocket Pilot – The Financial Four” for developing a one-stop solution aimed at enhancing financial literacy. In addition, three Best Performer Awards were conferred in recognition of outstanding overall performance across both individual and team assessments conducted throughout the week. The awardees were presented with a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Complete Kit, encouraging continued innovation and hands-on exploration in technology.
All participants were awarded certificates co-branded by Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS), the Center for AI for Social Good (CAISG), and esteemed industry partners including Dr. Madhan Institute of Future, JSR Script, and AQMATICS, reflecting strong academia–industry collaboration for this initiative.
The valedictory session had certificate distribution and recognition of outstanding participants. Parents and students shared overall positive feedback about the program. Overall, the program provided a holistic platform for students to gain multidisciplinary exposure, practical skills, and critical thinking abilities, preparing them for future academic and professional pursuits.
