Pharmatopia 2025: Celebrating World Pharmacist Day at RUAS

Commemorating World Pharmacist Day 2025 under the global theme “Think Health, Think Pharmacist,” the Faculty of Pharmacy, RUAS, in collaboration with IIC RUAS, NSS RUAS, and Rotaract RUAS, hosted "Pharmatopia 2025" on 25th September 2025. This event highlighted the pivotal role of pharmacists in healthcare, blending academic perspectives, recognition of contributions, and vibrant student engagement through a series of competitions and awareness initiatives.

Pharmatopia 2025 featured seven competitions: E-Poster, Quiz, Elocution, Slogan Writing, Logo Design, Short Film Making, and Freehand Drawing. The event attracted over 250 registrations from participants across more than 25 universities and 89 colleges, representing 11 states and 2 union territories.

The celebration commenced with an inaugural ceremony attended by distinguished faculty members and student leaders, setting an inspiring tone for the day. The gathering recognized pharmacists as innovators, educators, and essential partners in healthcare, moving beyond traditional roles. The keynote address, delivered by Dr. S. Bharath, Dean – FPH, reflected on the history and evolution of pharmacy, as well as the future of the profession with technological advancements like AI and machine learning. Chief Guest Dr. Shrinivasan S., a distinguished pharmacist and MSME consultant, encouraged students to pursue diverse career pathways in research, industry, and public health, inspiring them to embrace innovation and service in their professional journeys.

Students’ creative presentations showcased recent progress in pharmacy, including drug development, clinical research, and patient counseling practices. Interactive competitions such as quizzes and elocution fostered camaraderie while reinforcing core professional values. The exhibits, including infographics, freehand drawing, and interactive displays, spotlighted key issues such as rational drug use, pharmacovigilance, and community health. A special panel discussion brought together faculty and students to deliberate on the evolving responsibilities of pharmacists in bridging gaps between healthcare systems and communities.

Competition winners were honored during the award ceremony. The event also featured a heartfelt felicitation of non-teaching staff, recognizing their decades of dedication and invaluable contributions to the institution. Their unwavering support and hard work were acknowledged with deep appreciation, underscoring the vital role they play in the success and operations of RUAS. All participants collectively took an oath, affirming their ethical and professional commitment to healthcare. The program concluded with a rally to increase public awareness of World Pharmacist Day and the essential role of pharmacists.
