Participation in State-Level Student Project Programme
Dr. Chetana Baliga, DBT Ramalingaswamy Fellow in the Department of Biotechnology, FLAHS, at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, and her students—Varshini Bangera, Anjana R, and Suma K.S. from the M.Sc. Biotechnology (2023 batch). They have been selected to present at the State-Level Student Project Programme, organized by KSCST at JNNCE, Shivamogga, on August 1st and 2nd, 2025.
Their project, titled “In Silico Identification and Validation of Novel Antimicrobial Peptides from Neem (Azadirachta indica),” reflects scientific curiosity, innovation, and relevance in addressing contemporary health challenges through computational biology and plant-based solutions.
Out of 1,440 student projects selected for KSCST financial support this year across various disciplines, only 440 progressed to the prestigious state-level presentation, which included 171 posters and 269 working prototypes. Being among this top tier of student research is a testament to the team’s diligence and the dedicated mentorship of Dr. Chetana Baliga.
We also celebrate the representation of FLAHS by two teams this year—a proud moment that reflects the growing research culture and academic excellence within our institution. Congratulations to Dr. Chetana and her team for this remarkable milestone. Your commitment to meaningful research and academic mentorship continues to inspire and uplift the spirit of scientific inquiry.
