Ms. Alma Khan wins Prestigious Padma Vibhushan Prof. UR Rao Award
On the occasion of the National Science Day Celebration held on 26th February 2026 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, a postgraduate research project by Ms. Alma Khan and team won the prestigious Padma Vibhushan Prof. Udupi Ramachandra Rao Award.
The award-winning research, titled "Integrating Computational Modelling and Experimental Validation to Elucidate The Neuroprotective Potential of Glimeperide Nano Formulation in Alzheimer's Disease," was mentored under the guidance of Dr. Damodar Nayak A, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology. The recognition, presented by the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA), Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, comprises a cash prize and an appreciation certificate.
The award was presented by Shri N. S. Boseraju, Hon'ble Minister for Minor Irrigation, Government of Karnataka, in the esteemed presence of Dr. M. C. Sudhakar, Hon'ble Minister of Higher Education, Karnataka, and Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar, Former Chairman of ISRO, alongside other dignitaries.
