Industrial Visit to 400/220 kV Receiving Station, Hoody, Bangalore

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, organized an industrial visit for the B.Tech 5th semester students to the 400/220 kV Receiving Station located at Hoody, Bangalore on 28th November 2025. The visit was conducted as part of the curriculum to strengthen students’ understanding of subjects such as Transmission and Distribution, Power System Analysis, Switchgear and Protection, and SCADA systems.

The industrial visit enriches learning experience for the students. The practical exposure significantly strengthened their conceptual understanding of power system components, protection schemes, and grid operation. The insights gained from engineers and the real-time demonstrations of SCADA and protection systems will greatly support their academic and professional growth.
