Inaugural Ceremony of ‘Deeksharambh-2024” and ‘Best Outgoing Student’ Award Ceremony at Faculty of Pharmacy, RUAS
Faculty of Pharmacy, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS), hosted the Inaugural Ceremony of ‘FPH-Deeksharambh1-2024’ for the B. Pharm and Pharm D batches of 2024-25 on 17th September 2024. Coordinated by Dr. Parasuraman P and Mr. Damodar Nayak A, the event marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for new students. Dr. S. Bharath, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the students, highlighting the faculty’s achievements in education and research.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Raina emphasized RUAS's multidisciplinary approach and its commitment to holistic education, fostering leadership and entrepreneurship. Chief Guest Dr. Bhaskaran J, Deputy Drugs Controller, Government of Karnataka, discussed India's leading role in pharmaceuticals and the wide career opportunities for pharmacy graduates, particularly in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, generic medicines and vaccine production. Prof. O. P. Kharbanda, Pro Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences, urged students to develop global competencies and analytical thinking, essential for success in the evolving healthcare sector.
The event also featured the 'Best Outgoing Student' Award Ceremony, where Dr. Sharon Furtado presented the selection criteria, explaining that awardees were chosen based on academic performance, leadership, extracurricular activities and community service. The awards were conferred upon Ms. Sandra Ross (M.Pharm), Ms. Kushboo B (B.Pharm), and Ms. Agneesha Sharma (Pharm.D), recognizing their exceptional achievements. Proud families witnessed the award presentation by the dignitaries. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Judy Jays, acknowledging the efforts of all involved in organizing the event. The day celebrated both the freshers’ academic start and the outstanding accomplishments of RUAS students, reinforcing the university’s commitment to shaping future leaders in the Pharmacy field.
