IISc Start Up Competition
Eight students from the School of Social Sciences (SSS) and the School of Law (SoL), representing four teams, were shortlisted for the final rounds of the India-Japan Conference, organized by IISc and Keio University, Japan. The event took place on December 4th and 5th, 2025, at the IISc campus.
From over 200 applications, four teams from SSS and SoL were selected to present their startup ideas and interact with distinguished delegates from both India and Japan.

- Team 1: Priyanka Makhijani (Dept. of Public Policy) & Shraddha Kamble (Dept. of Economics). Idea: "The Eco-build Nexus" | Theme: Co-designing a Sustainable Future.
- Team 2: Ankita Sharma (Dept. of Psychology). Idea: "One Earth Academy" | Theme: Skilling for Resilience and Innovation.
- Team 3: Divya Ranganatha & Devika Raj Mohan (School of Law). Idea: "India-Japan Strategic Electronics Initiatives" | Theme: Economic Partnership for Strategic Growth.
- Team 4: Sharadhi Bhardwaj & Anisha Kini (Dept. of Psychology). Idea: "Mirai Roots" | Theme: Skilling for Resilience and Innovation.
- Awards and Achievements: In the final round, Ms. Divya and Ms. Devika (SoL) secured second place, receiving premium Seiko watches presented directly by the CEO of Seiko. Additionally, Ms. Ankita Sharma (Dept. of Psychology) was awarded the fourth prize, which included a cash reward of ₹25,000.
