IGNITE 2026

A Rapid Review for Exam-Going Post Graduates – IGNITE 2026 was conducted from Department of Orthodontics- Dr M Sunil Kumar Prof & Head of Department on 18th to 20th August 2026, at the Basement Auditorium, Ramaiah Memorial Hospital, New BEL Road, Bengaluru, by the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, in association with the Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS), Bangalore Orthodontic Study Group (BOSG) and Karnataka Orthodontic Study Group (KOSG). The organising committee also included faculty from the Departments of Orthodontics of RVDC, KCDS and BIDS, reflecting the collaborative academic nature of the programme.

The three-day programme was specifically designed for examination-going postgraduate students, with eligibility for II and III year Orthodontic postgraduates. The programme focused on high-impact orthodontic topics relevant to theory, practical examinations and viva, providing focused academic revision and guidance to help students approach their examinations with greater confidence.

It brought together postgraduate students and experienced academicians from different dental institutions all over Karnataka with speakers covering a wide range of core and contemporary areas of orthodontics. The academic sessions included biology of tooth movement, self-ligation, diagnosis, functional appliances, MBT prescription, biomechanics, cleft management, TADs, surgical orthodontics, vertical and transverse discrepancies, facial asymmetry, Begg technique, finishing, TMDs, dentofacial aesthetics, accelerated orthodontics, AI, digital orthodontics and orthodontic scars. The programme also had quiz sessions with exciting prizes to encourage active participation by the students.
