Guest Lecture on “Accelerating Drug Discovery and Development Using Artificial Intelligence and Other In Silico Techniques”

The Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, in association with the Panpharmacon Club, organized a guest lecture on “Accelerating Drug Discovery and Development Using Artificial Intelligence and Other In Silico Techniques” on 27th September 2025 (Saturday) at 11:00 AM in the Council Hall, Faculty of Pharmacy.

The session was delivered by Dr. Nagaraj Kulkarni, Chief Scientist, Sravathi AI Technology Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru. Dr. Kulkarni shared valuable insights into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and in silico methods in modern drug discovery, emphasizing their real-world applications and impact on healthcare innovation.

A total of 88 participants, including faculty members, postgraduate students from Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy departments, and undergraduate students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, attended the lecture. The session proved to be highly interactive, offering students and researchers an excellent opportunity to explore the possibilities of AI-driven approaches in pharmaceutical sciences.

The event was successfully organized by the enthusiastic students of the Panpharmacon Club, under the guidance of Dr. J. Anbu, Head of Department of Pharmacology, and Dr. Ashwini Somayaji, Faculty Coordinator of the Club. Their collective efforts ensured the smooth execution of the program.

The department extends its gratitude to Dr. S. Bharath, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, and the University leadership of RUAS for their continuous encouragement and support in organizing such academic initiatives that bridge emerging technologies with pharmaceutical education.
