Fifth Workshop on "Essential Midwifery Procedures-Skill enhancement"
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, RINER successfully conducted the Fifth Workshop on Essential Midwifery Procedures-Skill enhancement on 19th & 20th May 2025, aimed at enhancing clinical competencies in maternal and newborn care. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 73 attendees, including staff nurses, teaching faculty, and UG and PG nursing students from across Karnataka.
A special focus was placed on hands-on skill training, with participants actively engaging in structured skill stations covering antenatal and intranatal assessments, normal vaginal birth assistance, immediate newborn and postpartum care, breastfeeding techniques, and family education. These sessions were led by experienced teaching faculty from RINER and Aastrika Foundation, ensuring evidence-based, practical learning aligned with national guidelines.
The workshop was well-received for its interactive format and practical relevance, contributing significantly to the participants’ confidence and competence in essential midwifery procedures.
