Expert Talk at Public Policy: Integrative Health and Its Impact on Public Health
The Department of Public Policy (School of Social Sciences) and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at MSRUAS jointly organized an expert talk by Dr. Krishnamurthy Jayanna titled, "How Integrative Health & Well-being Contributes to Public Health & Population Wellness." The event was coordinated by Dr. Aishwarya, Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Policy and IIC Coordinator.
The session addressed the critical objective of ensuring universal health and well-being. It highlighted how traditional disciplines—such as Ayurveda, Yoga, and Meditation—show significant promise as complementary approaches to community wellness. Dr. Jayanna emphasized that strategic investment in implementation research and population-wide scaling of these practices can greatly accelerate outcomes for Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG-3).
The event saw active participation from students and faculty of the School of Social Sciences (SSS), the Faculty of Life and Allied Health Sciences (FLAHS), and the Faculty of Management and Commerce (FMC).
We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Aradhana Talwar, Dr. Akhil K. Singh, and Mr. Gurucharan Gollerkeri, Director of the School of Social Sciences, for their invaluable support and guidance. Finally, special thanks go to the Public Policy students for their excellent coordination in organizing the event.
