Dr. Sowmya SV Wins Best Oral Presentation Award at 4th World Congress on Pathology & Cancer Diagnosis 2026

Dr. Sowmya SV, Professor and Head, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru, received the Best Oral/Poster Presentation Award at the 4th World Congress on Pathology & Cancer Diagnosis 2026, held on 20th September 2026 at the A. V. Rama Rao Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.

The award was presented for the research titled “Development of Metastatic Risk Assessment Model for Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma by Clinico-Pathologic Phenotypic and Molecular Characterization.” The work highlights an integrated approach to understanding and predicting metastatic risk in oral squamous cell carcinoma by combining clinicopathological and molecular parameters.

The recognition reflects the scientific relevance and translational potential of the research in advancing risk stratification, prognostication and personalized management of oral cancer.
