Distinguished Lecture on ‘Tech Flatforms & Competition Law’

Department of Economics in the School of Social Sciences organized a Distinguished Lecture on ‘'Tech Platforms and Competition Law' on 2nd April 2026. Prof. T S Somashekar, Professor of Economics, National Law School of India University delivered the lecture. Faculty and students from the Department of Economics, Department of Public Policy, Department of Sociology and the School of Law were participated in the event. Speaker highlighted the challenges before the completion law and Competition Commission of India in particular with the rise in technology platforms. The recent amendments to the Competition Act was explained and also some of the landmark cases related to it was also discussed. The Director, SSS & SoL and Provost (Social Sciences & Allied Faculties) were present in the event.
