Career Training on “Sustainable Fashion Start Up and Global branding’

The event Career Training on “Sustainable Fashion Start Up and Global branding” Ms Gowri Shankar, CEO, Sharada Fashion, Bangalore was conducted on 2.9.2026 (Wednesday) in Ramaiah Technology Campus (RTC) campus. During the talk Ms Gowri said “For launching a sustainable fashion start up requires merging eco-friendly operations with a compelling global brand narrative that avoids greenwashing”. Sustainable Fashion Start-Up needs to “Choose certified materials like organic cotton, hemp, linen, or Tencel to reduce chemical and water impacts”. Ms Gowri said there is need for educating the consumer. This can be done by digital storytelling, behind-the-scenes.

Sustainable fashion is a movement and approach to clothing design, manufacturing, and consumption that minimizes environmental harm and protects the people and animals in the supply chain.

Resource person told the students about her experience in industry dealing with the brands, buyers and consumers. She also guided the students about handling of challenges while beginning a startup company.

Overall all the students learnt and imbibed knowledge from the resource person.
