Brave Talk - Maybelline
On 20th March 2024, on the account of International Day of Happiness - Faculty of Pharmacy in collaboration with Rotaract Club of RUAS and NSS RUAS, organized an insightful awareness session titled “Brave Talk — Unlocking the Path to Mental Happiness” at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium, Ramaiah College of Arts, Commerce and Science.
The event aimed to shed light on mental health issues and empower individuals with strategies for achieving emotional well-being. This session was made possible through a collaborative effort with Maybelline New York and Yuvaa, two esteemed organizations dedicated to mental health advocacy. Resource person offered insights into the challenges being faced by individuals in maintaining mental well-being and the importance of destigmatizing conversations around mental health. The audience actively engaged in interactive sessions and had the opportunity to share their experiences, ask questions, and receive guidance on coping mechanisms and self-care practices. Resource person also highlighted that Buddy for Mental health can be incredibly beneficial and encouraged participants to be a a friend who can offer support, empathy, and non-judgmental ear when a friend/peer need to talk. Also, how they can support someone to feel less alone and provide encouragement to seek professional help if needed.
Following the insightful awareness session on mental health, attendees were invited to participate in an engaging Open Mic session centered around the theme “Ae Watan Mere Watan” Participants were encouraged to share their personal stories, dreams, and ambitions related to themselves and their homeland. Participants expressed their hopes for societal progress, cultural preservation, and individual success, reflecting a diverse range of perspectives and experiences.
