7th workshop on Helping Babies Breath (Basic Neonatal Resuscitation)

The department of child health nursing , Ramaiah Institute of Nursing Education and Research has organized 7th Workshop on Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) over two days, on the 25th and 26th March, with an overwhelming response from participants. A total of 127 participants registered for the workshop. Due to the high number of registrations, the training was organized across two separate days to ensure effective learning and adequate hands-on experience for all attendees.

The workshop primarily focused on hands-on training in basic neonatal resuscitation, participants were trained in essential skills required to manage newborns who do not breathe at birth, including immediate assessment, routine care , initial steps of resuscitation and bag-and-mask ventilation.

Interactive skill stations and simulation-based learning formed the backbone of the training sessions. Participants had the opportunity to practice techniques individually under expert supervision, which enhanced their confidence and competence in neonatal resuscitation procedures.

Overall, the workshop was highly effective in building the capacity of healthcare providers and equipping them with lifesaving skills to improve neonatal outcomes.
