Faculty of Dental Sciences, Department of Public Health Dentistry, RUAS invites you to a session on "Role of Registries in Mitigating Cancer" on 21st April 2025.
The National Cancer Registry Programme (NCRP) provides vital data on cancer incidence, trends, and outcomes across India. It supports evidence-based policymaking, resource allocation, research, and public health interventions. NCRP plays a crucial role in early detection, treatment planning, and monitoring the effectiveness of cancer control programs nationwide.
As part of the curriculum of final year students, a guest lecture has been organised by the department of Public Health Dentistry on Cancer Registries by Dr Meesha Chaturvedi on 21st April, 2.30 pm.
Brief about the speaker: Dr Meesha Chaturvedi is a Scientist ( Medical) at ICMR, MBBS from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. She has expanded Cancer registry network by visiting potential registry areas and understanding population dynamics. Dr Meesha was instrumental in making data available to stakeholders through published reports of PBCR and HBCR, portals like cancer Samiksha and providing high quality data to WHO-IARC ( International Agency of Research Against Cancer). Dr Meesha was awarded an extramural grant of 2.8 Cr for implementation and execution of project ‘ Development of an atlas of cancer in Haryana State’ by DHR. Dr Meesha in her talk will emphasise on mitigation of oral cancer in particular.
