Pi Day Celebrations 2026 – RUAS Math Club

The RUAS Math Club, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, is organizing a series of engaging activities as part of the Pi Day Celebrations 2026, scheduled from 12 to 16 March 2026.

Pi Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize the importance of the mathematical constant π and to promote interest in mathematics. In line with this spirit, the RUAS Math Club is hosting a set of interactive competitions designed to encourage mathematical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills among students.

The celebrations will feature four exciting events:

1. Treasure Hunt

A mathematics-themed treasure hunt where teams solve riddles and clues across different venues on campus. Participants collect clues and digits of π, which must ultimately be arranged in the correct sequence. The event encourages teamwork, strategic thinking, and mathematical curiosity.

2. Snakes and Ladders – Maths Edition

A fun and competitive twist on the classic board game, where progress on the board depends on solving mathematical problems. Teams compete by answering questions quickly and accurately while navigating the game board.

3. Integration Bee

A calculus-based competition focused on solving challenging definite and indefinite integrals under time constraints. The event tests speed, conceptual understanding, and problem-solving skills in integral calculus.

4. Pi Recitation Contest

An individual competition where participants attempt to recall and recite as many digits of π as possible, celebrating the fascinating infinite nature of this famous mathematical constant.

These events aim to create a vibrant platform where students can experience mathematics beyond the classroom, engage in healthy competition, and develop a deeper appreciation for the subject.

Students from RUAS are encouraged to participate and celebrate the beauty and excitement of mathematics through these activities.
