Dr. Vimal Raj L completed his PhD with a thesis titled "Adoption of Cashless Transactions – An Empirical Analysis from Users' Perspective" on August 21, 2024, in the Department of Commerce at the Karaikal Campus of Pondicherry University. He earned his Master of Commerce in 2011 at Muthurangam Government Arts College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, affiliated with Thiruvalluvar University. He has also qualified for both TNSET (September 2017) and UGC-NET (December 2018) for the eligibility of an Assistant Professor in Commerce. His teaching interests include banking theory and practice, accounting, marketing, micro and macroeconomics, statistics, and business research methods.

His research interests encompass financial services marketing, technology adoption, general marketing, and theory development. He has successfully published five research papers in ABDC-ranked journals, with three papers in B-category journals and two in C-category journals, all indexed in Scopus (Q1 and Q2) and Web of Science. Additionally, he has contributed a book chapter to the IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology book series (IFIPAICT, Volume 698) by Springer Nature. Beyond his publication achievements, he has served as a reviewer for seven research papers in three ABDC journals.
