Mr. Shashikant Saurav is an Assistant Professor of Law (Senior Scale) at the School of Law, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences. He specializes in criminal laws, with research interests in transgender rights, women’s rights, gender neutrality, and consumer protection.
He holds a BA LLB (Hons.) from Aligarh Muslim University and an LLM from the Central University of South Bihar, where he authored a dissertation on the efficacy of rape laws in India. He qualified UGC-NET (Law) in December 2019 and is currently pursuing a PhD at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Bengaluru. Before joining Ramaiah University, he served as an Assistant Professor at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad for three and a half years and at the Indian Institute of Legal Studies for one and a half years.
As a passionate academician, he has presented research papers at national and international conferences and has several reputed publications to his name. He believes in challenging students to test the limits of their intellectual abilities. In his free time, he enjoys reading fiction and writing monologues.
