Prof. R. Muralidharan is a distinguished Patent & Trademark Attorney, Registered Patent Agent, Mediator, and Legal Academic with over three decades of experience in intellectual property law and legal education. He is the founder of Manu Associates, a Bangalore-based law firm specializing in patents, trademarks, and alternative dispute resolution, while also regularly managing professional assignments across various cities in India.
Prof. Muralidharan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Master’s Degree in International and Constitutional Law, bringing an interdisciplinary perspective to his practice. His career reflects a deep commitment to both the practice and teaching of law. He served as a Research Fellow at the Department of Legal Studies, University of Madras (1984–1986) and as Assistant Professor at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore (1988–1992). Between 1993 and 1996, he was a Visiting Lecturer at University Law College, Bangalore, and later held the position of Infosys Research Fellow at NLSIU (2000–2002).
Currently, he continues to engage in academia as a Visiting Faculty at NLSIU, Bangalore, and NALSAR, Hyderabad, contributing to the development of future legal professionals in the fields of intellectual property and constitutional law.
Professionally, Muralidharan is registered to practice before the Bangalore High Court and the Patent Office, and is enrolled with the Bar Council of India. His unique blend of legal practice, mediation, and academic scholarship makes him a respected figure in the Indian legal community, particularly in the areas of patent law, trademarks, and intellectual property mediation.
