Ashit Mohan Prasad, IPS (Retd.) is a Professor of Practice at the School of Law, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS), bringing with him an illustrious career spanning over three decades in the Indian Police Service. A former Director General of Police and Chief Information Commissioner of Karnataka, Mr. Prasad has served in several key roles, including Additional Director General of Police (Traffic & Road Safety), Head of the Internal Security Division, and Commissioner of Bengaluru Traffic. Known for his leadership in cyber security and public safety, he has played a pivotal role in modernizing enforcement practices and promoting transparency through the Right to Information (RTI) framework. As Professor of Practice at RUAS, he combines his deep practical experience with academic engagement, offering students rich insights into criminal law, cyber law, and governance.
