My experience at Ramaiah has been very humbling and mind opening. B.Des in Fashion Design has taught me lot of things about fashion design and competitive world. The course equally balanced the theory and practical’s subjects which is an added advantage. In the first year it’s all about learning about basics of design. From 2nd year onwards it’s more towards Fashion Illustration, Pattern Making and Understanding of different Textile Materials. Every Year we get exposure to value added courses, Workshops, seminars which has helped us gaining more and trending knowledge related to fashion. Every year we had an opportunity to participate and organize fashion shows which in tum has helped us understand the working of a fashion show.

My interest was towards Product design and I wanted to gain Knowledge about Product design which will enhance my career. Finally, I got into this wonderful college where I learnt a lot about Industrial design and feeling confident about myself. Thanks to faculties, I was able to do internship in a very reputable company. When it comes to nature of my faculties, they are extremely supportive and friendly. I have enjoyed and admired the peaceful environment. RUAS is a place where I was able to showcase my talent and build my confidence level. I would like to extend my gratitude towards all my faculties and the management for bringing me to the position now I am.

Ramaiah University of applied Sciences has given me the opportunity to study a wide range of topics related to fashion design including garment construction, textile design, trend forecasting and more.
I had incredible exciting and challenging experience at the institution. I also had an opportunity to work in real-time projects, such as designing and showcasing for fashion shows which has provided me the required skills and practical experience. One of the unique aspects of B.Des in Fashion Design in RUAS is the exposure given to develop a personal design exploring the unique vision and style with the new materials in market. The overall experience at RUAS dept. of Fashion Design has rewarded me with the skills, knowledge which will be helpful to me to pursue a successful career in fashion industry.

Personally my experience in Ramaiah provides me a platform to enhance my skills in fashion. Choosing fashion in Ramaiah university has assisted me to gain enormous knowledge both practically and theoretically.
The teaching staff are undoubtedly the highlight to aid my flaws and motivate me to perused better day by day. Apart from the knowledge gained in the classrooms, extra value added programs, bring more interest about the topic for us students. The institution also frequently conducts industrial visits along with the faculties who guide us throughout. This adds a real life exposure and experience to the fashion industry outside. Although knowledge is at hand everywhere, there is a certain requirement to convey it to the students and this role is fulfilled by our very own teaching staff. Indeed a perfect choice I’ve made being a part of our institution.
