
Dr Soma Chaki joined as an Assistant Professor in 2018 and heads the Department of Biotechnology, FLAH, RUAS. She is a member of the Indian Science Congress Association and Association of Carbohydrate Chemists and Technologists, India. She began her illustrious career as a Lecturer at Acharya Institute of Sciences, Bangalore (2006 – 2008). She started work as an Assistant Professor and eventually became a Professor and Head of the Department at Acharya Bangalore B School (2009 – 2018). Having earned degrees in BSc (Hons) Zoology (1995) and MSc (Zoology) (1997) from the University of Calcutta, she went on to study for her PhD degree in Immunology at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Jadavpur University, Kolkata (2005). She was a Post-doctoral Fellow at DHLRI, Ohio State University, Columbus in USA between March 2004 to May 2005.
